Week #72 Field Situation Report: Map with new Filter Options

GE, Operators.

Welcome to week #72.

This week we’ll be using the Field Situation Report again. (Message/Select Template/Standard Templates/General Forms/Field Situation Report)
Add your county’s EOC to the form’s header.
Precedence is ROUTINE. The Task Number is: 04-002. Please send it to the three (3) operators ABOVE your callsign in the list below. CC: it to SNJOEM.
There is NO EMERGENT/LIFE SAFETY NEED.
Fill in your location. Bonus Points for Lat/Long.
Using the last digit of the year you were born, fill in the rest of the form based on whether that number is ODD or EVEN.

The POC is Marvin Gardens

If your callsign is not on the list below, email me at: SNJWW.

Now for this week’s exercise:

Generate an ARCGIS Topo map for the Field Situation Report and display the map. (Message/Generate Maps and CSV files for forms) Everyone should have received 5 or 6 between this week and last week’s net.

In the map’s upper left, click on Select Filters.
For Cellphones Functioning, select NO and set the marker color to YELLOW.
For Commercial Power Functioning, select NO and set the marker color to RED.
Any other options for those two parameters should automatically generate a BLUE marker.

Click SAVE at the bottom to reopen your map with the new filter options displayed. Your map should have all three colored markers displayed somewhere. You may have to zoom out to find distant stations.

Optional:
If you’d like, send a JPEG image of your map to NJ2N at arrl dot net. The image is too big to send via Winlink for most operators.

This is another new feature added by the Winlink Team. Prior to this, your only marker option was red. That meant you could only map one parameter at a time. Feel free to mess around with other colors and parameters.

Have fun!
