Week 110 ICS207

GE, Operators.

Welcome to Week #110.

This week we’re going to test your skill and creativity. The scenario:
You are the radio operator at the Hazard County EOC. You are handed a thumb drive with the following form on it: https://groups.io/g/SNJEMCOM/files/SNJ%20Winlink%20Wednesday/SNJWW%20ics%20form%20207,%20incident%20organization%20chart%20%28v3%29.pdf

You need to find a way to send this form to SNJOEM.

If you figure out how to send it while maintaining a reasonable file size, go ahead and send it (to SNJOEM).

If you figure it out but the file size is too big to send via Winlink, send SNJWW a Winlink Check-in form and describe your method in the comment section.

If you are unsure how to tackle this exercise, send a Winlink Check-in form to SNJWW. You can put any ideas or questions in the comment section.

The idea behind this week’s exercise is to see how you handle a Served Agency throwing you a curveball. It might not be this specific form, it could be anything, but your ability to adapt to the unexpected could make a huge difference and possibly save the day.

For anyone that gets stuck, I will post additional information for this exercise on Wednesday evening.

Good luck and Have Fun!

Re: Week 110 ICS207

Hint: Something from last week's exercise will work.

Re: Week 110 ICS207

UPDATE:

Week #110 continued…

It’s possible to send a form that is not supported by Winlink by converting it to an image file and attaching the image to your Winlink message.

The method I used to send the ICS207 is as follows:

Open the PDF file.
Copy it to your PC’s clipboard (I use the Control key + Shift key + S key)
Paste it into MS Paint (or similar program). Crop it, then save it as a JPEG file.
Attach the JPEG file to a Winlink email. Winlink will give you the option to Resize the JPEG. Reduce it to around 30kb or a little bigger if you’re sending messages via VHF.
That’s it. The ICS207 will arrive in a readable format that is not too big to send by Winlink.

You may recognize this method from last week’s net. It is the same as how you resized the diagram that you attached to the ICS201.

There may be other acceptable methods.
