GE, Operators.
Welcome to Week #80. This is the second week of our multi-week exercise.
There are two parts:
First: I have sent a Winlink Bulletin to last week’s operators. (Let me know if you don’t get it via Winlink)
Follow the bulletin’s instructions.
Second: Open a Winlink Message and Select the ICS214A Individual Activity Log. Use the SETUP button in the upper left to put your CALLSIGN in the form’s header.
Incident Name: Hazard County Extreme Weather Event
The Operational Period starts when you receive the Winlink Bulletin that I’ve sent you. Leave the “To:” box blank for now.
ICS Section is Logistics/Communications
Assignment/Location will be determined by your response to my Winlink Bulletin
Your first entry will be the receipt of my Winlink Bulletin. The second will be when you send in your Winlink Check-in Form.
At this point you will scroll to the bottom of the form and click on the SAVE ICS214A DATA button. This will preserve the form’s contents for future nets. The saved data is usually stored in your computer’s Downloads Folder. Now you can close the ICS214A safely. If you do not save the form’s data, it will be lost.
All operators will maintain the ICS214A for the duration of this multi-week exercise, at which time you will be asked to send the final copy to SNJOEM.
And that’s it: Get a Bulletin; Send a Check-in; Start an ICS214A.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Have fun!
